In listening to many banquet goers and competitors with concerns of the banquet being on a competition night, I have decided to host the NASKA Awards Banquet on Thursday evening instead of Friday. I am, of course, taking a chance and counting on all those that voiced their interest in moving the banquet. This will allow me to set up a true World Class awards ceremony that celebrates the competitors and their families for their dedication to the NASKA World Tour.
We will provide world class entertainment, drawings, DJ, dancing and of course an eloquent venue for fine dining in order to recognize the achievements of the many competitors. Along with the competitor awards, we will also be presenting awards for outstanding parent, outstanding judges as well as awards for special achievement.
My experience in hosting award banquets starts back in 1978 when I took over the American Karate Association (AKA) Awards banquet. I have hosted over 700 people at these events and continue to conduct our banquet each year. Originally derived from the AKA banquet, the NASKA banquet was Ken Eubanks' vision of grandeur for our deserving competitors. With this same enthusiasm, I intend to bring you a NASKA Awards Ceremony that the best competitors in the world have earned and deserve.
The schedule for the banquet will be as follows:
June 19, 2008 (Thursday night)
- 7:00 pm Doors open - Cocktails and music by Will the DJ man.
- 7:30 pm Opening address
- 7:45 pm Sideswipe performance
- 8:00 pm Dinner is served
- 8:30 ish pm Introduction of NASKA world promoters and address by NASKA president Larry Carnahan
- 8:45 presentation of awards
- 9:30 ish Party party party
- 12:00 am go to bed
Some of this schedule may change or be re-arranged. The 7:00 pm opening will not change. Your support for this event will be paramount to our commitment to Sport Karate and its competitors.
Competitors who can not be present at the banquet may still be eligible to receive their award, but must purchase at least one banquet ticket in order to receive their award. Awards can also be shipped to the competitor for an additional $10.00 shipping fee. We are also asking that you fill out our Banquet Information Packet and Jacket Order form below.
